Hello there,
Hope everyone have a great day. I woke up this morning and thinking about sharing my experiences with my new discover this week from Chanel. To be honest, I love Chanel perfume and their lipsticks but I never thought I will buy Chanel skin care products because they belong to another expensive level. Besides, I already have my favorite beauty skin cares from Lancome and Shiseido which are more affordable and also works so well with my skin.
First, let me tell you one thing, my skin is the most annoying or aka sensitive skin in the world. I have dry combination skin with some large pores, some acne spots, dry patches and some redness. Oh, and with a 32 years old woman, do I need to mention about wrinkles on smile lines? I guess not. I’m lucky enough not to have wrinkles (yet) around my eyes but that day will come. Hence, anti-aging products are always on my priority. So, just when I feel like I do not need to find any other anti-aging serums because I love my Lancome daily beauty oil so much, I got a Chanel Blue Serum sample from my Macy’s package. I got this after I bought new face wash gel from Lancome (which I will review in another blog). My curiosity is lured. I know the world’s Blue Zone from a TV documentary on CNN. Blue Zone is an area where people live measurably longer lives and they all look young and healthy. The Blue Serum is expected to bring youth and healthiness for users. Therefore, this will be a nice product, I assumed.
I tried the sample in the morning after I washed my face and before I started my makeup routines. I felt curious and a bit risky. My skin is not getting along well with new routine and I don’t want to see dermatologist any time soon.
Anyway, the first feeling is it’s very smooth and my skin feels like being locked by a silicone layer. The serum has a light scent to me, it smells like some kind of herbs mixing with fruits. I waited 10 minutes because I wanted my skin really absorb the serum. Later I kept doing my skin care routines with sunscreen, foundation, etc. The serum did not moisture my skin that much comparing with my Lancome beauty oil. I have dry patches on my cheeks which never happen if I use my Lancome beauty oil.
At 9pm, I removed my make-up, this is when something strange happened. My skin after washing all makeup, feels like silicone again. Very clean feeling. I let my face dry naturally 10 minutes before using skin care for night time. But after like 10 mins, it felt drier than usual, comparing with my usual daily step.
This happens again the next day. After 2 times using it, I finished the serum sample. Obviously, sample is sample. You will see more long time result if you use the product longer. I read the ingredients and I wonder if the alcohol in the serum makes my skin drier after using it or not.
General, I think if your skin is not dry combination like mine, you will like it. But to me I will not buy this serum because it makes my skin drier after using it. Everyone skin is different so I will recommend you test it first with samples before spending $110 for it.
